Denmar Technical Services (DTS) ferried a 737-700 aircraft for NASA to the King Aerospace facilities in Ardmore, Oklahoma today. This flight marks the beginning of the transformation of that platform to perform lunar-gravity parabolic flights to test NASA lunar suits and space equipment in preparation for future Artemis missions. DTS was recently awarded the contract to modify the aircraft that was transferred from the Department of War to NASA. DTS Test Pilots and Specialized Aircrew received a one-time flight authorization from NASA to move the aircraft under provisional airworthiness approval.
DTS spent the last 6 months demodifying the aircraft for the Department of War and returning it to a flyable condition for the ferry flight for NASA. NASA Armstrong engineers worked with DTS experts to approve the ferry flight to allow work to begin on transforming the aircraft into the parabolic flight configuration.
DTS is proud to be a part of the historic work that NASA is undertaking with this platform and has decades of aircraft modification and test operations experience to bring to the effort.
